Some Ramblings
1. Hedonism is stupid.
Basically, it's the idea that we should live for the experience and for one's own goal... or something like that. But this is soooo dumb in a world in which beauty pageant queens constantly wish for world peace, I mean, come on! If everyone was more worried about themselves and what they gain from anything we would be even further from any type of utopia than we already are, though I'm not a fan of utopia anyway.
2. Why should everything in life depend on luck?
I know not everything depends on it, but the majority of anything in this world is based on lottery. E.g. Being born into a good, whole and rich family; Not getting cancer; Being intelligent. These are all things that in life we have no control over. That's just not fair.
...Okay maybe in a way it is but that is quite hard to explain.

The woes of AOL helplines and Sarah Palin.
Any who, back to normality, school, exams, coffee... the way things should be.
Thinks that have bothered me:
1. What's all the hub-bub with Sarah Palin? I'm not American (evidently) but their politics seem to be drifting into my life, esp. in Spectator magazine, or on the news. Of course, it is to be expected, the US is after all the most powerful nation on the Earth economically wise etc, but even the polices that do not technically affect me, seem to really get my goat. Now this is really my problem with her idea of teaching creationism in schools, I mean it's bad enough that they all pledge allegiance to their flag, why add the extra conformity of telling people what to think on a religious basis? In my ROMAN CATHOLIC school, I have to learn about the big bang and evolution; even though I do actually believe that God made these two evens happen, strictly speaking I shouldn't, nor should I have to learn about it as if I do. However these two theories are based on fact, evidence, and therefore can be treated as mere facts to write in an exam, just to pass the grade, but creationism, in my view is completely different, as it is more of a belief, and can't physically be proved as highly likely facts. This to me, makes it harder for someone of another religion being forced to learn about something they have no belief in, and thereby makes the idea from the Republicans quite foolish. Though I hope that due to my non American-ness, I merely mis read that this idea was actually put forward, because I think it's a bit of an insult to the American institution to say that it is the 'land of the free' when your children do not have the 'freedom' to not learn someone else's religion (as their own) for an exam.
2. The Anti Shoe is GAY (www.theantishoe.com). It's a nice idea, they want to keep our joints healthy and supple, but come on! If humanity has lasted God only knows how long without the glory of a stupid looking, though admittedly clever shoe, I think it'll do just fine without it.
3. Is it me, or is there an endless supply of unattractive people sleeping with other unattractive people then arguing about it, and then going on The Jeremy Kyle Show to whine about it? Okay, so I sound extremely shallow at this moment in time, but hasn't anyone else noticed it? In everyday life (and I don't live a posh one) I see lots of okay looking people, so how come suddenly all these not so great looking people end up on the show, yet the nice looking ones are in the audience? What is this show? Some sort of circus? And for some obscure unknown reason, most of the stories I've seen on it are about people cheating on their partners, or not knowing the paternity of their child/ children; can't these people purchase protection? It's not like the benefits that tax payers pay for can't cover protection, or I dunno... maybe they could hmm... Get a job?
One thing that hasn't bothered me:
Roswell! Good on E4 for providing the repeats of the American Hit series, while there's nothing on the television on a weekend morn, E4 have seized the opportunity to show good old fashioned teen drama... with aliens.

Choices
But, I know that this doesn't mean that if I go a different way to school, for example, it doesn't have to mean that othat action ends up with someone else saving the world. But it could... there is that chance.
It sort of makes you wonder what the world would be like if you did some things differently... and then it sort of reminds you thateven if things are particularily great, it could be alot worse really. Of course it could be better, but things are at a sort of balance, there's crime, hate etc but there's also so much love and kindness that just doesn't get enough press, when on the news normally it's the faluts of politians or wars in forgein places instead of the good things hat happen all over the world. Like, Bill Gates gives some of his profits to charritees, but I only heard that yesterday, when he's been doing this for years, yet it's more likely for me to hear how they are rivals with google etc. And you hear about how teenagers today in places like London are all out of contol, and yes I admit, I've seen some crap, but I mean... we're not all like that. It actually rather depressing to see what the world is turning into, and part of it, is this ideathat one person doesn't matter. It's like we've been programmed to have this belief that one person can't change the world. Like oh, I'm not going to turn off the water when I'm brushing my teeth, one person won't make a difference, not when someone else will do it anyway. *shakes head* nothing will change if everyone keeps thinking that.
So make your choices wisely, don't fall into this trap. Even I've done it, but we should all try.
Sorry if this post sounds a bit preachy :S

A reason for listening to countless film critics
THE HAPPENING
What actually happens in the Happening?
I’ll tell you what.
Nothing.
The whole thing is a waste of money, honestly. However jacked up the cinema prices are getting (I paid £8, that’s right- eight whole of my pounds) do not even bother wasting your money.
Do not believe the lies that are the very well made advertisements and trailers for this film. They say it’s a horror, the most scary ever made by its creator M. Night something or other; the bloke who did The Sixth Sense. The Happening did not top it- not by a very, very long shot. I spent half the time with my fingers over my glasses, believing that maybe, just maybe something terrifying would happen- but it never did. No wait- there was this old lady in it that gave me the ‘heebie jeebies’ but other than that, it was more messed up than anything else. I also found the whole aim of the film a little dodgy: respect trees/ the environment. That was the whole point.
What were we supposed to be scared of?
The wind.
Yes, you heard (well, read) correctly.
Wind.
And no, I don’t mean a massive fart either.
‘Run away from the wind!’ someone screams, and so they do… *gasp* and nothing happens. That was dumb. Near the end, when you think, okay, one of these ‘principle’ characters were going to die, they step out into the ‘wind’ and guess what… nothing happens! Conveniently, the spores in the wind stopped just as they left the house. Now that pissed me off- what rubbish.
And the conclusion to the entire film was spelled out to you, because for some it was too obvious, or to others the whole film made no sense at all. Looks like there needs to be a seventh sense just to get this nonsense.
I have to admit, there are moments (and I mean MOMENTS) of actual horror, but the majority were just disturbing. People hanging from trees: Disturbing, not scary… just disturbing. People killing themselves… it’s not scary, it’s sick (and I don’t mean sick as in ‘cool’). That writer has problems, and he’s there proclaiming the so called ‘greatness’ of his creation (which is a bit like a Film Frankenstein) on the misleading advertisements, as if he, himself has something to be proud of by making that film.
All M. Night something or other has accomplished has been:
- Wasting my money.
- Wasting my time.
- Wasting his, and the film company’s money.
- Lying to the world.
- Making himself look like an idiot.
- And proving that he has problems and that he needs a phyciatrist.

An Apology To those who are Gay
I have this funny little habit of calling everything 'gay' these days.
E.g.
Wow that's so gay!
Or
That dude is GAY.
For this, I am sorry.
But I'm not sorry for this:
You're as gay as Steven!
'Cause, 1. It's a character.
2. He's in denial.
3. He's a crazy physco.
4. I can't even spell physco anyway, and the spell checker freezes this computer... well nearly everything does anyway...

The Mockery of the Mock Exams
THE PERSON THAT MAKES OCR GCSEs SHOULD HAVE AN ANGRY LETTER WRITTEN TO THEM.
Why?
Observe:
Why use percentages to show results?
Tick the correct answer:
Percentages are more scientfic.
Everyone knows what a percentage is.
There was a difference in results from each table.
Guess which one was correct...
EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT A PERCENTAGE IS! WHAT SORT OF RUBBISH IS THIS? THIS IS NOT A SCIENCE EXAM! THIS IS A NONSENSE EXAM.
After taking a OCR Mock Science Exam, there is alot left to be desired, there's no point even revising, because the questions have no real association to the information in the revision guides or textbooks in class.
Another great fault with this exam board is that the questions- as I have previously stated, are not scientfic at all. I'm sorry but at what authority can one say that 'Everyone knows what a percentage is'? Are these people so ignorant they can't even realise that there are people in the world that can't even read? Oh so they don't know what is meant by 'the cat sat on the mat' (in writing) but they know percentages. What fools!
Also, they ask us questions on things that aren't even in that part of the syllabus; at what point did we learn about 'half lives' and 'plutonium' I know these terms, but that does not mean that I can use it to calculate this, that and the other.
In addition, there are far too many of those A,B,C,D,E or F questions. There are too ambiguious to show any true answer, or true knowledge of the subject at hand. As well as that, these questions are really hypothetical, I mean, it's full of 'he thinks', 'they think', 'suggest' what ever happened to science being about true facts and definitions, isn't it about finding the 'why' about the world? Not 'what it could be'.
Now. The second paper.
HOW IS A COMPREHENSION SCIENCE?
How is a comprehension with questions that do not have the answers in the text, science?
How can the school actually manage to give around 60 girls a text booklet filled with a repeat of the question sheets?
So many questions so little ranting time, I'm going to watch the Apprentice on BBC1.

Do You Know What Really 'grinds my gears'?
All in all, what 'grinds my gears' are those posh girls that have more money than sence.
N.B. I'm sure they aren't all like that... or are they?
