Choices

In this week's episode of Doctor Who (which was brilliant) Donna, a person who seemed to be just about as unimportant and mundane as the rest of us, lost in a sea of billions of people on this planet, managed to determine the fate of the rest of the universe- just by turning left. It sort of highlights the idea that every little thing we do can have great ratifications on the rest of the world, because seeing as we're all in this sea of people, we have a way of effecting other people everyday. An it's like a chain reaction, once one person does something, like turning down one road instead of another, they affect what another person does, whihc effects someone else, etc...
But, I know that this doesn't mean that if I go a different way to school, for example, it doesn't have to mean that othat action ends up with someone else saving the world. But it could... there is that chance.
It sort of makes you wonder what the world would be like if you did some things differently... and then it sort of reminds you thateven if things are particularily great, it could be alot worse really. Of course it could be better, but things are at a sort of balance, there's crime, hate etc but there's also so much love and kindness that just doesn't get enough press, when on the news normally it's the faluts of politians or wars in forgein places instead of the good things hat happen all over the world. Like, Bill Gates gives some of his profits to charritees, but I only heard that yesterday, when he's been doing this for years, yet it's more likely for me to hear how they are rivals with google etc. And you hear about how teenagers today in places like London are all out of contol, and yes I admit, I've seen some crap, but I mean... we're not all like that. It actually rather depressing to see what the world is turning into, and part of it, is this ideathat one person doesn't matter. It's like we've been programmed to have this belief that one person can't change the world. Like oh, I'm not going to turn off the water when I'm brushing my teeth, one person won't make a difference, not when someone else will do it anyway. *shakes head* nothing will change if everyone keeps thinking that.
So make your choices wisely, don't fall into this trap. Even I've done it, but we should all try.
