Another day, another blog

Well, I don't really have anything that is actually interesting to say today... but I 'm bored so I'll write some stuff about playing guitar, and my band; seeing as I'm in a musical mood.
My band is called Cavalen, (the first letter of all of our names) and we've only been a band for a few short months. I'm one of the many guitarists in the band, but I will only use the electric guitar. Not only are the school's acoustic guitars a bit iffy, but acoustic guitars in general are too big and bulky for me, and the electric guitar has more playable high notes.
Tasha (the self- taught bassist) has written a song for us, but there's isn't any music to it; so I have taken it on as my goal, to make a basic riff that goes with it. So then, we have something to work with and everyone could try to imput. Even though it's the summer holidays (which means more blogging by me) and we won't see each other, we still have the internet and technology on our side. Even if we don't have a growing number of people against us, we are still strong, and well it only gives us more motivation to be better.
But back to the song, it's called 'Same Game' but I wanna change it to 'We are not the same'...I personally think that it makes the song sound more ..sophisticated. But I'll have to ask first. I wanna change a couple verses too...I hope she'll be understanding about it...
I don't even know which guitar I am in the band, I think I'm rhythmic guitar, but logically I should be the 'lead guitar' doing all the more quick intricate stuff, seeing as I have the guitar with best manuvure-ablity... oh well. I really want to be fantasical at guitar, I've wanted to play since primary school, I practise everyday now, and I've been learning lots of Bloc Party songs. I even did this fret board on paper with all the notes on it. I'm so determined to be an excellent guitarist and put in all the hard work for it. Something that some people don't seem to understand, and just critise....
Woo, I only just discovered the colour font button!
I will never use it again...'cause even though, I'm good at art, I suck at colour co-ordination...
Yeah...so....
Thinking of what to write...
Erm... here's a link to the funniest shit on the BBC:

A bit of deep thoughts, while listening to 'So here we are'...

Has anyone looked up at the sky recently?
No- I mean properly. Have you looked up at the atmosphere, and losing yourself in it's unimaginable vastness and colour?
Well, If you haven't: do so. 'Cause sometimes we all need a 'kick up the arse' to realise how beautiful the world is. That is the natural world, not the estate blocks sticking out of the urban skyline like.....a....sticky out...thing. I ought to read a Theasarus really, well it's not like I won't have the time over the summer holidays.. 6 bloody weeks of constant bordom. Damn it.
Anyway, back to the sky... Some people I know, think that everything is a waste of time. I guess they don't apreachiate the Earth, which is a pitty, bcause then, there is no point of being here. Us humans just treat the world as if we own it... We don't know that for sure. And, even if we do, we shouldn't just forget that there are 7 billion other people in this world, some of which may actually want a bit of nature around you know. But then again, concrete is conforting. Well it is to us city people anyways. I don't know if I would cope in a world with modern convinences and the way central London is....

So anyways, this school year has whizzed by way too fast; Tomorrow is my last day of yr 9 and I shall enter the world of coursework, deadlines and attempting to get down to a size 14. I'm NOT looking forward to it.
Oh well. Life goes on right?

Live Earth was alright actually... well, it wasn't the best thing I've ever seen, but there was some pretty spectacular acts, like: the black eyed peas (who know how to get a party started!), Snow Patrol and of course; Bloc Party- who were the only ones to do the mexian wave, but unfortunatly their set was only 15 mins long:(
However, I think the concert didn't really do much to actually help the 'global warming' issue. The concert itself (even after some environmental efforts) probably left its own big arse carbon footprint; while trying to preach about how we all are supposed to count down our carbon emissions. Even after that I guess that the message of Live Earth is fab. 'Cause it's true- what Al Gore is trying to tell us all,
If we don't act now- we're doomed.
Well those aren't his exact words but it is true. At the rate we're going half of Britain will be underwater (for example)...which has already happened in the North, but that was due to flash flooding; that I guess could be traced back to global warming.
There has been alot of extreme weather these days, and it's only getting worse, what is it going ot take to get people to wake up and do something about our planet? Extreme weather like hurricanes (and similar things that have different names- why I don't know) have increased dramatically over the last decade, so has our usage of planes. Connected much? Does the world need a complete massacre as a result of a natural disaster for people to change their ways? Or will that be too late?
There are many ways of trying to help the situation; like not having your TV on stand by- but it's been said so many times, and if you don't know what to do: use the bloody interent!
But I think that everyone, and I mean everyone should plant, or have in their house a plant. Or have a tree... but obiously not in a house (see cartoons for more info on that). If everyone had some form of taking in CO2 giving out O2 we might have a bit more chance of balancing out the atmosphere a little. Well there are around 6-7 billion people in the world so, that would be a hell of a lot of greenery....
Yeah so well done Live Earth, it has actually made me write about going green.
Some sites and cartoons and such to get you to go green:
A tres cool cartoon about the carbon footprint and planting trees.
I dunno if this site works for non aol users but it's cool if you can see it:
One of those 'footprint calculators':
An article about the carbon footprint of a burger:

oh and Al Gore's film about global warming is called: The inconvenient truth (can't spell it)
It's an insightful film,I've seen like, half of it in Geography class, it's worth watching. Some of the statistics that are told are totally mind boggingly worrying to hear.
